Description

To provide a grounding in Contemporary Standard Czech, concentrating on the language of everyday situations. To develop simple productive and receptive skills in speech and writing. By the end of Czech (i) and (ii) students will be able to read a simple but unedited Czech text and to conduct a simple conversation in Czech. In Czech (i) some of the principal grammatical constructions are introduced.
